It appears you are very conscious of personal diplomacy and are very aware
of delicacy of communicating with another culture. While on one hand as I
suggested in my previous communication that we don't want to impose western
ideas on another culture, it is also can get misconstrued that developed
cultures look down upon other cultures and think what is good for goose is
not good for the gander. When I worked with Native American housing
authority, I experienced some decision makers wanted to imitate the urban
culture while others resisted and even became more attached to their own
and both could not decipher that "baby should not be thrown with the bath
water".
So I like your approach of explaining the Pros and Cons of your example as
you see them.
I would still suggest that try to understand Afghan culture aspirations of
users, decision makers and professionals and they may not be same. If
possible have your hosts send you some information prior to your departure
and then you must meet these groups when you get there. Thanks for the
opportunity to participate.
